Victoria Secret model Kelsey Merritt is now joining the ranks of Sports Illustrated Swim Suit models.

The Filipina American has been in the Bahamas preparing for her shoot for the sports magazine's most popular issue.
According to Phil Star, Merritt auditioned for SI in October, a month before becoming the first Filipino American model to walk the Victoria Secret Fashion Show runway.
“I really want to be a Sports Illustrated model because I love how confident the models are and I want to show everyone who is looking at these pictures and reading the magazine that they can also be confident in their own skin,” Merritt said to Phil Star.
The Manila Bulletin reports she graduated with an AB communications degree from Ateneo de Manila University.
“Ahhh thank you @si_swimsuit @mj_day for the opportunity to shoot for this iconic issue!!!" she tweeted. ” she said on Twitter.
