FilAm History: San Francisco lights up to mark Filipino American History Month


IF YOU'RE in San Francisco in the evening this month, head over to the Civic Center to see the city's tribute to Filipino American History Month. City Hall is awash in the colors of the Philippine flag, red, blue and yellow.

The city will formall celebrate the month with a proclamation that will be presented Oct. 19 in the City Hall Rotunda, amidst speeches and entertainment.

The program will include a tribute to the late San Francisco State history Professor Dawn Mabalon.

For those who want to observe FilAm History Month is less formal event, try the monthly Night Market on Oct. 20 or the Lumpia Palooza on Oct. 27.



This month featuring special performances and collaborations from rising Pinay artists ranging from hip-hop and rap to neo-soul, R&B, and more!
