Shooting victim Hanna St. Juliana. |
Hana St. Juliana, 14, was the youngest students to die at Oxford High School in Michigan's Oakland County when a fellow students came to school with a pistol and began shooting taking the lives of Hana and three other students.
Hana was an athlete, a member of both the freshman girl's basketball team and girl's volleyball team. The day before, she played her first basketball game for her team.
Steven St. Juliana, Hana's father, said he wasn't able to speak to the media Wednesday but he did tell Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald that his daughter "was one of the happiest and most joyful kids.""Hana was part of our family," said Curtis.
"She was kind and genuine to her core. She she loved to babysit and to be with kids. She loved to help people. She was just one of the best kids I've ever known," Curtis told 7 Action News. "I'm not real sure how we keep moving through our days right now."
Three more students, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Tate Myre, 16, and Justin Shilling, 17, also died from gunshot wounds. The motive of the shooting suspect is still not known.
In addition, six other students Phoebe Arthur, John Asciutto, Riley Franz, Elijah Mueller, Kylie Ossege and Aiden Watson as well as teacher Molly Darnell — were also wounded in gunfire, according to authorities.
The accused shooter, 15-year old Ethan Crumbley, was being charged as an adult, said McDonald. The shooting suspect is being charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of terrorism causing death. He faces seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Investigators discovered videos and a journal that announced his intention to “shoot up the school,” authorities said.
Authorities said that the suspect’s father bought the gun four days before the shooting.
