TGIF Feature: H.E.R. sings her new song for virtual concert

From her Vallejo, Calif. home, H.E.R. sang from her living room in her New York City residence.

In case you missed the IHeartRadio's Living Room Concert last week put on by a bevy of performing artists, you missed the surprising performance of H.E.R.

H.E.R., also known as Gabriela Wilson, proved that she's no flash-in-the-pan fly-by-night artist as she sang in her living room in her New York City residence.

Dressed in quarantine-chic sweats, the Filipina American sang her new song, fitting the occasion, "Keep Holding On," accompanying herself with an acoustic guitar.

After she was introduced by Ellen Degeneres, she welcomed the audience into her living room."It's amazing how music can bring us all together even though we're all at home. I hope everybody's staying at home and staying safe," before launching into her song.

Last week, she indicated - like everybody else - she's been staying home to avoid possibly contracting or spreading the coronavirus.

"Going MAD," she posted on her Instagram account. "But let me say thank you to those who are sacrificing so much to help prevent the spread of this virus and the ones in the hospitals risking their lives every day, and those who have donated every piece of equipment and supply they could find, wish it didn’t take something traumatic for people to unite to help others. But We’ll get through this!"

The concert also featured recoriding artists Elton John, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keyes. Donations generated by the concert went to support two of many charitable organizations that are helping victims and first responders during this difficult time —Feeding America and First Responders Children's Foundation. Every dollar raised from the COVID-19 response fund for Feeding America will be used to get food and funds to local food banks across the US and FOX Entertainment is matching the first $100,000 donated from supporters.

Money raised for First Responders Children's Foundation will help support those first responder families who are enduring financial hardship due to the coronavirus outbreak.
