'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' stars Vincent Rodriguez III and Rachel Bloom. |
The musical romcom picks up where we left last season, when the two main protagonists, Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) and Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) finally admit their feelings for each other and fall into each other's arms.
But remember what happened, Rebecca inadvertently confesses that she left New York City to move to West Covina to hook up with her teenage crush. The camera zooms into Josh's face of consternation that seems to convey, "Wha'? That's crazy! Is she crazy? What am I getting into?"
Although the show received critical acclaim, it didn't really pick up the audience that it deserved. During the off season, the show received awards from the Golden Globes and the Emmys and people began to notice.

The new timeslot is evidence of CW's confidence in this quirky, smartly-written show hoping that it will pick up more viewers. CEG made history in a couple of ways in its first season.
The hour-long show occasionally features Josh's Filipino/American family, the first FilAm family shown on U.S. television. Josh's noteworthy role as the romantic lead also broke down some stereotypes about Asian men.
