DNC: AAPI delegates, guests and elected officials have a pre-convention meeting




PRIOR to the start of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia today (July 25), APAIVote hosted a briefing and reception.

Presenters at the briefing about the social and political trends of the AAPI community, included: 
  • Greg Cendana, Institute for Asian Pacificl Leadership and Advancement, who talked about the workforce, unionization  and criminal justice;
  • Sayu Bhojwan of the New American Leaders Project, who discussed pipeline development for AAPI elected officials;
  • Christopher Kang, National Council of Asian Pacific Americans, sharing the issues facing the AAPI community today;
  • Mee Moua of the Asian Americans Advancing Justice sharing information on presidential voting guides.
The reception followed and included celebrities such as Constance Wu and members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.
