Olivia Rodrigo is making music industry history. Her hit single "Drivers License" has been No. 1 in the Billboard Global 200 for an unprecedented seven weeks in a row.
To put that Olivia's accomplishment in perspective, her No. 1 run has done better than worldwide superstars including BTS' "Dynamite" and Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
Clearly, Olivia's popularity and outreach has exploded beyond the Disney niche and sets her up for possible appearances in the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards.

On her Instagram account, she posted: "Never in my wildest dreams did I expect all of this support. So grateful for Dan Nigro and everyone who has supported me in this crazy adventure. Thank you guys endlessly for listening."
Before her record hit the charts in January, the Filipino American artist was best known for her role in Disney's High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which attracts a relatively small, but loyal and apparently influential fandom of teenagers.
"Drivers License's" appeal may be the real-life story allegedly behind the song that involves a romantic triangle that ended in a breakup with co-star Joshua Bassett, 20, and Girl Meets World star Sabrina Carpenter, 21.
Rodrigo's song's emotional and lyrical appeal has been so strong, it was honored with a skit from Saturday Night Live, where she was compared to Taylor Swift. Male cast members gathered around a pool table talking their "feelings" and broken hearts was hilarious. That's almost as good as getting a Grammy.
The SNL skit, coincidentally, was performed on the singer/songwriter's birthday and she responded:

She's following up in the footsteps of another Filipino American Disney alumnae, Vanessa Hudgens, whose performing career was also launched in the original High School Musical.
"Drivers License" is only one song for her upcoming album. She is only 18 and her career is just starting.
