A FILIPINO/AMERICAN man has died hours after falling between two BART trains in the San Francisco Bay Area, reports ABC7.

San Francisco firefighters used inflated balloons to lift the train off Jeff De La Fuente, a resident of Hayward, Wednesday and rushed him to the hospital.

De La Fuente. 31, fell off the 24th Street BART station platform and was pinned between the first and second cars from the waist.

Doctors say De La Fuente tried valiantly to fight off his injuries, but died Friday.

“I just want his family to know that he was loved by many,” said his longtime girlfriend, Dorothy Mak. ”

His family has set up a GoFundMe in his honor, soliciting donations for a funeral and the transportation of his body back to the Philippines.

His girlfriend is asking for donations to help Jeff’s mom with the funeral expenses and arranging for him to be brought back to the Philippines for burial,” the fundraising account states.
