Move over Olivia Rodrigo, welcome Beabadoobee to America. Who? This April, the Filipino Brit artist Beabadoobee will perform at Coachella, one the US's top music festivals.
The Philippine-born performer, aka Kristi Ilejay Laus, is introducing herself to North American audiences this Spring with her The Spaces in Between Tour, promoting her third album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves.
The singer and song-writer, Beabadoobee, moved to the United Kingdom with her parents at the age of three and has been actively making music since 2017, writing songs in her bedroom for social media.
Described as an altrnative/indie artist, some of her hits that went viral on social media include "Coffee," "Death Bed," and "The Moon Song."
Now that she is no longer a teen, at the ripe old age of 24, she told Rolling Stone: “I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs. In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there, too.”
It is not Beabadoobee's first time in America. In 2023, Taylor Swift picked her to be one of the opening acts for the megastar's Eras Tour. The first night as the opening act in Las Vegas, Swift welcomed her by singing one of Bea's songs, "Our Song."
"It didn't feel real," the artist born Beatrice Kristi Laus says in an interview with People.
"Imagine someone that you've listened to growing up and almost shaped your childhood being like, 'This is for young Bea.' And I'm like, well, f— my life. I'm going to die. It's like all the problems have just been solved in that [moment]," Beabadoobee shares on Zoom, in the midst of the Eras Tour. "She's just so awesome. And the fact that she took the time to say that and to watch an interview, and to sing it and even just introducing me. It's just mental that someone I'm a massive fan of appreciates my music as much. It was a trip. It was a massive trip. It was like I was on shrooms or something."

Beabadoobee's newest album landed the 50th spot on NME‘s 50 Best Albums Of 2024 list. The tour comes in support of the singer-songwriter’s third album ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves‘, which was given a four-star review by New Music Express, the British equivalent to Billboard magazine:
“[‘Girl Song’] is a heart-wrenching song, filled with a multitude of complex and often contradictory emotions, the knotty realities of young womanhood laid bare,” it read. “That’s something that shines through the whole of ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’ – Beabadoobee’s knack for capturing the twists and turns of growing into yourself with relatable candour. A collection of songs that showcase the tangled feelings of this time, the young artist’s third record is a poignant, powerful thing.”
