Stanford professor cleared of sex harassment charges

A Stanford professor accused by members of the university’s wrestling team of ogling them has been cleared of charges, reports NBC News

Team members said math lecturer Hung Le engaged in non-physical interactions that made them feel uncomfortable. They accused Le of showering in unnecessarily close proximity to them in an area open to the general school community.

A five-month investigation by the university found no wrongdoing.

“While the investigation acknowledges that some conduct of the individual in the period up to 2010 may have made wrestlers uncomfortable, it concludes there is not sufficient evidence that a violation of Stanford’s sexual harassment policy occurred,” the university said in a statement.

Le had vehemently denied the charges, telling the Mercury News “I never had any improper behavior.”

Coaches also denied being aware of the wrestler’s concerns.

“It breaks my heart this comes up now and I am hearing of this,” said head coach Steve Buddie, according to the Mercury News. “I had zero reported to me or brought to my attention.”
