GEORGE TAKEI will star in the second season of AMC’s The Terror, Moviefone reports.

The Terror is a horror drama anthology series produced by Academy Award winner Ridley Scott. The first season centered around frozen Royal Navy ships. The crew aboard the ship struggles to survive the harsh winter, while being stalked by an elusive creature.

According to Screen Rant, the second season, set during World War II, will focus on a bizarre series of deaths that haunt a Japanese American community. Takei will play Yamamoto-san, a former fishing captain and elder. He will also serve as a consultant on the show, Moviefone reports.

Takei, who rose to fame playing helmsman Hiraku Kato Sulu in the original Star Trek TV series, also wrote and starred in Allegiance, a Broadway musical that took place in one of the internment camps and was loosely based on Takei's own experiences in those detention centers.

According to the AV Club, Alexander Woo, the new showrunner, says interment camps are a “blemish on the nation’s conscience.” He hopes that his storyline will convey the terror of the camps.

Production is set to begin in early 2019, Screen Rant reports. Fans can expect the second season to premier in 2019.
