FAMILY FRIENDS and co-workers are mourning the death of a San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge toll taker.
Si Si Han was struck and killed Dec. 2 when a suspected drunk truck driver rammed his rented truck into others, causing a chain reaction.

Han, 46, has worked as a Caltran employee for ten years and is survived by her husband, Ryan Saw, and her ten-year-old daughter, Ashley.

Han moved to the U.S. from Burma and married her husband 15 years ago, according to SF Gate.

California Gov. Jerry Brown and his wife Ann Gust Brown released a statement saying they “are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Caltrans toll collector Si Si Han, who died today while serving the traveling public. On behalf of all Californians, we extend our condolences to her family, co-workers and friends.”

A close relative who asked not to be identified told ABC7 her husband “is devastated, depressed. And then the daughter, she is going to have a difficult time.”

“We loved her here,” said co-worker Latasha Luster. “She always smiled and always asked about the family. And I asked about her daughter, her husband, her mother. It’s hard right now.”

The truck driver has been identified as Daniel Berk, 32, of Foster City. He is currently hospitalized with serious injuries. Police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
